LABRADORS ARE GREAT LOVERS....

They love to eat, they love to swim, but most of all they love people.

These wonderful dogs are, and probably always will be, the first choice when looking for a working gun dog.

Their tracking, hunting and retrieving abilities are second to none. Endurance, stamina and intelligence are unrivaled in the field. They are incredibly quick and eager to learn due in part to their " need " to please and pure joy in all they achieve.

The coat is short and dense and comes in three colours, Black, Yellow and Chocolate. The colour being determined by two sets of genes. The first being coat colour, Black or Yellow and the second being nose colour, black or brown / pink. In both cases the black gene is dominant. Therefore a chocolate coat is the result of a black coat gene and a brown / pink nose gene combination. Whatever the colour all are equally loving.

The affection we receive from our dogs is constant and absolute. Their ability to love and bond at any age has been described as " unlike any other breed ". Our family has owned, worked and bred the Labrador Retriever for three genarations and I can hoestly say they are all very special.

Their intelligence and devotion is highlighted in their use as guide dogs, hearing dogs and physical therapy dogs. They are also used by the police, fire and rescue services and bomb squads around the world.

Above all the Labrador Retriever needs to be a member of the family. Incredibly loyal their love knows no bounds however... If you are looking for a guard dog then the Lab might not be the best choice. Everybodies friend, my Labs would probably invite the burglar in and offer to hold his torch!
